Huawei unveiled its native HarmonyOS 5 operating system on 22 October 2024 at a high-profile product launch in China. The event marked a significant technological milestone as HarmonyOS establishes itself as the world’s third major mobile operating system, following Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android.
The presentation showcased both the new operating system and the Nova 13 smartphone series, which will be the first device to run native HarmonyOS 5. Huawei emphasized the system’s all-scenario capabilities, interconnectivity features, and intelligent user experience designed specifically for the Chinese market.
EK lights were selected to provide comprehensive technical support for the launch event, with multiple product lines deployed to create an appropriate technological atmosphere. The lighting design utilized KMAX high-color rendering LED profile fixtures for presenters and product demonstrations, ensuring natural skin tones and accurate color reproduction for both in-person attendees and broadcast viewers.
For dynamic visual effects, the production incorporated RATEL beam units, R2 beam wash zoom fixtures, COLLIDER BAR IP waterproof strobe bars, and DIAMONDBACK multi-function fixtures. This equipment combination delivered diverse lighting capabilities including beam projections, color washes, and synchronized strobe effects that complemented the presentation’s technological themes.
The lighting design specifically focused on creating an immersive environment that reflected HarmonyOS’s futuristic positioning. Lighting programmers employed star-like beam patterns and color transitions to establish a sophisticated sci-fi atmosphere throughout the venue.
