A tribute to the rich heritage of Hong Kong’s illustrious music scene, “Infinity And Beyond S4” features an ensemble of Hong Kong stars—such as the legendary Alan Tam—performing classic songs that defined an era of Cantopop. Led by lighting designer Chen Jieyu (陈捷予) and the DM-Design-Group (大盟团队) team, the stage utilized approximately 1,500 EK lights that balanced simplicity with grandeur.
The production design employs a four-sided stage format that pays homage to the iconic Hong Kong Coliseum concert venue. The box-style lighting stage with nested surrounding areas creates an immersive environment while strengthening the connection between performers and audience members. Furthermore, the incorporation of light pillars, wall backgrounds, and numerically controlled combinations allowed the lighting team to reconfigure lighting arrangements throughout performances.
One of the highlights of the concert was Hong Kong legend Alan Tam—affectionally known by his fans as “Principal Tam”—opening the night with a passionate performance of the Cantopop classic “Karaoke Forever (卡拉永远OK)”. EK products such as the H1 three-in-one moving head light were used to create dream-like patterns, emulating the effect of undulating waves. Along with a slate of other lighting fixtures, such as the S240 LED RGBW with high-saturation rendering and the Kx→100+ for natural facial illumination, the team managed to recreate the atmosphere reminiscent of the starry, nostalgic era of Hong Kong music.
EK is privileged to have played a part in celebrating one of Cantopop’s finest nights, allowing viewers to experience the cultural significance of Hong Kong’s musical contributions through a modern lens.
